GPS Nutrient Mapping with Soil Sampling Data
Farmers can often predict whether fields will have no differences or big differences based on local knowledge. For example, fields that generally yield fairly evenly are less likely to show big differences, and likewise fields with uniform soil type are less likely to reveal big differences.
However fields regarded as fairly uniform can some times give variable soil nutrient analysis, and highlight untapped potential in parts of fields.
pH
Map
- pH over 7 is coloured white. Shades
of red indicate areas of less than pH7, and darker shades indicate more
acidic soils requiring lime to
neutralise acidity.
Phosphorus Index
(P Index)
-
Phosphorus indices are shown as shades of blue. The darker the
shade of blue indicating areas with less phosphorus nutrient in
the soil and requiring more
phosphorus fertiliser.
Potassium Index
(K Index)
-
Potassium indices are shown as shades of green. The darker green indicates area of field with less
potassium nutrient requiring more fertiliser.
Magnesium Index (Mg Index)
- Magnesium indices are shown as shades of yellow. The darker yellow indicates area of field with
less magnesium nutrient in soil and requiring more magnesium fertilizer.
GPS Nutrient Maps
GPS data from soil sampling is used to create nutrient maps used to create fertiliser application maps for each field for GPS fertiliser maps to optimise fertiliser applications based on soil nutrient status, crop grown and rotation. See case study on GPS soil sampling.
"Soil sampling is only as good as the samples taken. Poor sampling procedures give poor data. Good soil sampling gives useful data."
GPS Mapping Service
GPS
mapping of farms, fields and areas for farmers. Farm map returned in the
format preferred by farmer, digital and/or paper for precision farming
and agriculture.
GPS Soil Sampling & Nutrient Management
GPS

required for nutrient management. Independent recommendations and
fertilizer required by next crop or crops.
